FAQs
Q: How long will I need to be in therapy?
A: Each person is different, so length of therapy can differ. However, therapy is not forever and will have an end. Expect about 6 months, depending on what you are experiencing.
Q: How do I know if therapy will work for me?
A: Therapy has been proven to alleviate depression, anxiety, PTSD, etc. Therapy is likely to work for you, especially if you are open-minded and willing to work through your experiences. Therapy is not guaranteed to help, although if you can be honest with yourself and your therapist, you are likely to benefit.
Q: Will I have homework after sessions?
A: Some methods of therapy require specific homework, while other methods vary. I do expect you to do some work outside of sessions as the one hour per week that you are in therapy is not likely enough to make lasting changes. You will most often be asked to practice concepts outside of our sessions.
